Throughout Scripture, God condescends to meet us at the altar. No wonder it has fallen out of fashion. At the altar is where God can and does get frank and real with each one of us, and maybe that's what we're afraid of.

It's very likely that the only thing preventing God from orchestrating a full-scale revival in our nation is the failure of His people to petition Him for revival. So let's become part of an army of intercessors, bombarding Heaven with please for God to intervene - not only on our behalf, but also for those who have yet to come to know Him. Come to the altar!

08/06/2020 — For six excruciating hours on the first Good Friday, Jesus hung on a cross at Calvary, as payment for our sins. In three of those hours the world was plunged into darkness, as God the Father withdrew Himself from the sufferings of His Son.

The fourth of seven times Jesus spoke from the cross, the Bible says, He asked God why He had been forsaken. And if we go no deeper than the English translation of the Gospels, that leaves us with an apparent contradiction from the rest of Scripture, which teaches that God will never forsake us. “Woe to Them Who Call Good Evil and Evil Good”

The culture can't tell the good guys from the bad guys – and increasingly, neither can the Church. God has set standards for right and wrong, but mankind throughout history has arrogantly substituted it's opinions for His commands. Mature believers must not succumb to this travesty of divine justice.

Our culture considers divorce an easy way out of a mistake, a prescription for temporal unhappiness in a relationship. And it is unavoidable in some extreme instances. But divorce is just as prevalent in the Church as it is in the culture, and that is unacceptable! Married believers should be models of perseverance and commitment, not a reflection of what all too commonly happens outside the church building.

“How Do I Know Where to Go to Church”

11/07/2019 — Too many believers have a "casual dating" relationship with the Church. They come when they haven't slept in, try different congregations until they find a place they enjoy and never make a real commitment. But Scripture tells us to "get set" in a local church, one that honors God and challenges its members to be serious about loving Him and loving people.

The Church is not a place for entertainment! It is a place to prepare to make a difference in the world outside the church walls, which is full of people who will never be in heaven unless they hear from us why it's important that they settle that matter here on earth.

“Divine Encounter”

10/10/2019 — We are in one of the holiest seasons of the year for God's people - the season of Tabernacles. The season includes three feasts - Rosh Hashanah, celebrated this year from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1; Yom Kippur, celebrated Oct. 9; and the Feast of Tabernacles, celebrated from Oct. 13-20.

This season is important because the spring feasts, during the seasons of Passover and Pentecost, have been fulfilled by the resurrection of Jesus on the first Resurrection Sunday and the arrival of the Holy Spirit on the first Pentecost. The season of Tabernacles will be fulfilled when Jesus returns, and all conditions for that occasion have been met! If Jesus returns, it will be during this season! The Church must be ready for Him.

We are emphasizing evangelism to children because the next generation of Christian leaders will come largely from people who grew up, from their earliest years, in the local church.

Many local congregations place their budgets and efforts toward adults at the expense of children. But it's possible to serve both age groups appropriately, and that's what WHC will be doing. To do less would be contrary to our commitment to advance the Kingdom of God in our mission field.

It’s long past time to return to the pillars of faith established in Scripture: the absolute necessity of heart conversion – being born again – and the baptism in the Holy Ghost.
