10/31/2019 — Satan, the adversary of your soul, is at work in the world and has dispatched demon spirits to attack members of God's Church - you and me. Spirits have no substance, so they need a body to accomplish anything. Delivering these spirits from the bodies they inhabit is not difficult - they simply must be commanded to depart from the body they inhabit.
 
It's important for believers to know who they are in Christ Jesus and to be able to discern when human spirits are being influenced by devils and when those human spirits are possessed. No devil can stand up to the authority of the believer who speaks in the name of Jesus!  
 
 
1 John 3:4-10
“Anyone who indulges in sin lives in moral anarchy, for the definition of sin is breaking God’s law. And you know without a doubt that Jesus was revealed to eradicate sins, and there is no sin in him. Anyone who continues to live in union with him will not sin. But the one who continues sinning hasn’t seen him with discernment or known him by intimate experience.
"Delightfully loved children, don’t let anyone divert you from this truth. The person who keeps doing what is right proves that he is righteous before God, even as the Messiah is righteous. But the one who indulges in a sinful life is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God was revealed was to undo and destroy the works of the devil.
"Everyone who is truly God’s child will refuse to keep sinning because God’s seed remains within him, and he is unable to continue sinning because he has been fathered by God himself. Here is how God’s children can be clearly distinguished from the children of the Evil One. Anyone who does not demonstrate righteousness and show love to fellow believers is not living with God as his source" (TPT).
 

• There is a great need in the Church today for believers to understand the authority they have over demon spirits.
• A spirit has no substance, so it must operate in a human body. Chasing a devil out of a human body requires just two words: come out!
• You do not have auth over another person’s spirit, and you won't unless that person yields to you. The devil has no entry except that which is afforded him. So if you approach a person and it's obvious that there is  demonic activity at work, you either have authority over it or it’s a human person throwing a tantrum.
• Satan must put back what he has possessed when commanded by a believer who recognizes that he or she has power over all devils.
• Two dramatic examples from the life of Pastor Parsley's mentor, Dr. Lester Sumrall, illustrate this principle. Some 50 years ago Dr. Sumrall was in the jungles of Central America when he came upon a witch doctor who was using a bull frog as part of a satanic ritual. Dr. Sumrall walked up to him and shouted the words, "Come out of him!" The man fell over and when he got up, he was born again and speaking in a heavenly language.
• Later, Dr. Sumrall went to his room in the house where he was staying. Suddenly a cool vapor filled the once-warm room, a horrible odor filled the room and his bed began to shake. He raised up in the bed and said, "I recognize you; I cast you out already. Now, I cast you out again. In the name of Jesus, go from me!"
• The room returned to its prior state, but the bed was now in the center of the room instead of against a wall. Dr. Sumrall commanded the devil to put the bed against the wall, and he did so.
• The devil obeyed this mighty man of God, because Dr. Sumrall walked in the power and authority of the Holy Ghost. When we walk in that same power and authority, we will be able to do the same!

 
Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving me the authority to confront devils and command them to stop their assault on Your Church! I understand the absolute necessity of being filled with Your Holy Spirit to be effective in spiritual warfare. You are not a God who has abandoned Your people, but You equip us to fight the battles that Satan brings to us! Make me always worthy of the confidence You have placed in me, Heavenly Father.        
Thank You for the examples You have set before me in my pastor, Pastor Rod Parsley, and his mentor, Dr. Lester Sumrall. I am inspired by their accounts of emerging victorious in confrontations with evil spirits, and I am confident in my ability to engage evil in my circles of influence. Order my steps so that I may faithfully execute Your calling, Heavenly Father!
