07/11/2017 — Believers need to continually praise God, not only for what He has done for them and through them but what He is going to do in the future. He's already in the future, and we need to focus on our futures more than on our pasts or our present circumstances. He is protecting us in our futures, so we can declare our enemies must go to the outer ends of the earth, away from us!

EDUCATION

Psalm 63
“O God, You are my God;
    early will I seek You;
my soul thirsts for You,
    my flesh faints for You,
in a dry and thirsty land
    with no water.
I have seen You in the sanctuary,
    to see Your power and Your glory.
Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
    my lips will praise You.
Thus will I bless You while I live;
    I will lift up my hands in Your name.
My soul will be satisfied as with marrow and fatness,
    and my mouth will praise You with joyful lips.
When I remember You on my bed,
    and meditate on You in the night watches,
because You have been my help,
    therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.
My soul clings hard to You;
    Your right hand upholds me.
But those who seek my soul to destroy it
    will go into the lower parts of the earth.
They will fall by the sword;
    they will be a portion for jackals.
But the king will rejoice in God;
    everyone who swears by Him will glory,
    because the mouth of liars will be stopped” (MEV).

APPLICATION

• Nothing is impossible with God. The key is we have to be with Him—in the wilderness as well as in the victories. We have to trust and give to Him, trust that He will take care of everything.
• The adversary of your soul will always attempt to block you from where God is working in your life. We tend not to quit at those times – we fight back. We are more tempted to quit after a victory, by getting complacent and stopping the habits that build our intimacy with God.
• We need to be proactive – preparing today for the future instead of responding to our past or our present. Jesus lived a fasted lifestyle not to deal with what was right in front of Him, but so He would be ready to deal with what was to come. That's an approach we would do well to copy.
• Praise God for the mess that He caused you to miss and praise Him for the good that is in your future. And command your adversary to go to the sea, the lowest part of the earth, and stay there until the end of time!

IMPARTATION

Heavenly Father,

My soul thirsts for You in every situation of my life. You have been with me in the wilderness and in the good times. Order my steps that I would continually seek intimacy with You – both in the face of what challenges me today and in preparation with what will occur in my future, where You have gone before me for my protection.

Cause me to be proactive instead of reactive – looking forward to the future You have arranged for me instead of dealing with the cares of today. Assure me of the future so I may go there boldly instead of living in the past or living a prolonged today. I look forward to my future with You!
