05/04/2018 — God created us to worship and praise Him, and he inhabits our praise. That means God can never be distant from you when you praise Him!

You change the atmosphere when you praise God. The sounds you permit in your environment determine both your attitude and your altitude.

You are not a praiser; you are praise!

Psalm 47

“Clap your hands, all you people!
    Shout to God with a joyful voice.
For the LORD Most High is awesome;
    He is a great King over all the earth.
He subdued peoples under us,
    and nations under our feet.
He chose our inheritance for us,
    the excellency of Jacob whom He loved. Selah
God went up with a shout,
    the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises;
    sing praises to our King, sing praises.
For God is the King of all the earth;
    sing praises with understanding.
God reigns over the nations;
    God sits on His holy throne.
The princes of peoples are gathered together,
    even the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;

Psalm 150

“Praise the LORD!
Praise God in His sanctuary;
    praise Him in the firmament of His power!
Praise Him for His mighty acts;
    praise Him according to His excellent greatness!
Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet;
    praise Him with the lyre and harp!
Praise Him with the tambourine and dancing;
    praise Him with stringed instruments and flute!
Praise Him with loud cymbals;
    praise Him with the clanging cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
    Praise the LORD!” (MEV).

APPLICATION

• God has given us life, and bodies and voices with which to praise Him. And, because He inhabits our praise, we affect those around us when we praise Him.
• Praise is designed to propel you above the storms of this earth. Phil Driscoll called this “the law of lift.”
• Praise disturbs the atmosphere. You don’t have to be a musician to worship. God will not stay away from sounds that are in His honor. However you can, make a joyful noise, because the sound of heaven is born on the inside of you.
• As one of God's people, you are called to make great sounds of praise, which God inhabits to change the atmosphere for His glory.

IMPARTATION

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for inhabiting my praises! Order my steps that I may never fail to praise You for Your mighty works for all You've done and all You're going to do in my life and in my circles of influence.

Use my praise to lift me above the circumstances of my life, that I may be a testament to Your love, Your power and Your sovereignty. Thank You for being the Author and Inhabitor of the Church's praise.
