The book of Revelation is intimidating to many Christians, who do not understand that it is a message of hope. It is both an insight into the future and a renaissance message that should be preached in every church. Ministers who do not study and preach the book of Revelation are denying their parishioners a blessing!
The message of Revelation is: Jesus is coming back for His Church! That's us! Hallelujah!
EDUCATION
Revelation 5:1-10
“And I saw that the one seated on the throne was holding in his right hand an unopened scroll with writing on the inside and on the outside, and it was sealed with seven seals. Then I saw an incredibly powerful angel proclaiming with a great, loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seven seals?” But no person could be found, living or dead, in all of creation—no one was worthy to open the scroll and read its contents. So I broke down weeping with intense sorrow, because there was found no one worthy to break open the scroll and read its contents.
"Then one of the elders said to me, 'Stop weeping. Look! The mighty Lion of Judah’s tribe, the root of David—he has conquered! He is the worthy one who can open the scroll and its seven seals.'
"Then I saw a young Lamb standing in the middle of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders. He appeared to have been slaughtered but was now alive! He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out to the ends of the earth.
"I saw the young Lamb approach the throne and receive the scroll from the right hand of the one who sat there. And when the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures saw the Lamb had taken the scroll, they fell facedown at the feet of the Lamb and worshiped him. Each of them had a harp and golden bowls brimming full of sweet fragrant incense—which are the prayers of God’s holy lovers. And they were all singing this new song
of praise to the Lamb:
'Because you were slaughtered for us,
you are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals.
Your blood was the price paid to redeem us.
You purchased us to bring us to God
out of every tribe, language, people group, and nation.
You have chosen us to serve our God
and formed us into a kingdom of priests
who reign on the earth'” (TPT).
APPLICATION
-
The book of Revelation will transform your theology, your thinking and your daily living. It will free you from confusion about the way God operates, from doom-and-gloom thinking and from a fear of the future.
-
The book does, however, prompt questions, and that's a good thing. Why, for example, is Jesus Christ described as both a lion and a lamb in Revelation 5? Our questions lead to answers, and the answers God gives us leads us to a deeper faith in Him.
-
The Greek philosopher Aristotle identified seven fundamental questions we should ask in determining truth: who, what, when, where, why, with and how. Why is the most important of these questions. Journalists are trained to answer as many of these questions as possible in the lead, or initial paragraph, of their stories.
-
Jesus was the Lamb who sacrificed His life for the sins of the world. But He will also return as a conquering King, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, and He will rule and reign forever.
-
We are invited to reign with Him - to choose between heaven and hell. Too much of the Church refuses to acknowledge hell, apparently oblivious that to do so portrays God as unjust. A just God who blesses good must also punish sin. Get right with God today, so you don't get left!
IMPARTATION
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the insights into Your character You provide in the book of Revelation. As I study Your Word may I be inspired to know and love You more.
Show me Your ways, and the path You have chosen for me to serve You. Order my steps so I may be ready for Your return to reign on the Earth, and so I may bring friends and other loved ones with me to be with You for all eternity.
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ – Jehovah Joshua Messiah – I pray. Amen!
