09/05/2019 — World Harvest Church is placing a renewed emphasis on children's ministry, in recognition of the undeniable fact that children are the future of the Church. We are emphasizing evangelism to children because the next generation of Christian leaders will come largely from people who grew up, from their earliest years, in the local church.
 
Many local congregations place their budgets and efforts toward adults at the expense of children. But it's possible to serve both age groups appropriately, and that's what WHC will be doing. To do less would be contrary to our commitment to advance the Kingdom of God in our mission field.
 
 
Matthew 19:13-15
“Then they brought little children to Jesus so that he would lay his hands on them, bless them, and pray for them. But the disciples scolded those who brought the children, saying, 'Don’t bother him with this now!'
"Jesus overheard them and said, 'I want little children to come to me, so never interfere with them when they want to come, for heaven’s kingdom realm is composed of beloved ones like these! Listen to this truth: No one will enter the kingdom realm of heaven unless he becomes like one of these!' Then he laid his hands on each of them and went on his way” (TPT).
 
It's vital for the Church to minister extensively to children. Consider:

• Five percent of those who accept Jesus do so after their 12th birthday. But the church spends 92 percent of its income on adults.
• By age 9 the moral foundations of a person’s life are already formed.
• What a person believes by the age of 13, they will die believing.
• Eighty percent of church leaders today grew up in church. This means that tomorrow’s church leaders are in children’s ministry today.
• Most churches don make children’s ministry a priority. We have a 10-year window of opportunity, from ages 4-14, to win a child to Christ.
• At any given time there are approximately 90 million Americans between the ages of 4 and 14. And 80% of them will never enter a church.
• There are approximately 200,000 children within 12 miles of WHC. We need and will accomplish a major expansion of our children's ministry, to be called Kid Harvest Clubhouse, to reach those children for Jesus!

Winning children into the Kingdom is a major priority for WHC! Every member should prayerfully consider how he or she can best support this priority.  
Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the children of World Harvest Church, and the children who live within 12 miles of our campus! I acknowledge our responsibility as a body to influence them into a loving relationship with You, so they may be a part of building Your Kingdom in the future.

I am excited for the opportunity to serve You in this ministry to the children You have called us to reach. Order my steps so that I may serve You and Your youngest disciples. Here I am, Lord! Send me.
