As a new academic year begins in our community and across the nation, WHC is praying for all students, teachers, faculty and administrators at all levels of the educational process. In concert with the season of miracles we are experiencing, we declare and decree supernatural increases in knowledge and insight across the educational process.
EDUCATION
Psalm 91
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I trust.'
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the hunter
and from the deadly pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
and under His wings you shall find protection;
His faithfulness shall be your shield and wall.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
nor of the arrow that flies by day;
nor of the pestilence that pursues in darkness,
nor of the destruction that strikes at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side
and ten thousand at your right hand,
but it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you behold
and see the reward of the wicked.
Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
even the Most High, your dwelling,
there shall be no evil befall you,
neither shall any plague come near your tent;
for He shall give His angels charge over you
to guard you in all your ways.
They shall bear you up in their hands,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the lion and adder;
the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
and I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
and show him My salvation” (MEV).
Psalm 19
"The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the firmament shows His handiwork.
Day unto day utters speech,
and night unto night declares knowledge.
There is no speech and there are no words;
their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.
In them has He set a tent for the sun,
which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber;
it rejoices as a strong man to run a race.
Its going forth is from one end of the heavens,
and its circuit extends to the other end,
and there is nothing hidden from its heat.
The law of the Lord is perfect,
converting the soul;
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple;
the statutes of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes;
the fear of the Lord is clean,
enduring forever;
the judgments of the Lord are true
and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold,
yes, than much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them is Your servant warned,
and by keeping them comes great reward.
Who can understand his errors?
Cleanse me from secret faults.
Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins;
may they not rule over me.
Then I will be upright
and innocent from great transgression.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer" (MEV).
APPLICATION
- As a new school year begins for students at all levels, teachers, professors and administrators, let’s all pray to have an appetite for the things of God, who is the source of all wisdom and knowledge.
- Being hungry to have more of Him in our lives is essential to true education. But increasingly, we fill our lives with images and sounds that distract us from Him.
- Author Aldous Huxley’s prediction has come true: we have become so inundated with info it has become irrelevant. Nothing touches us, shocks us or gains our attention. And the average attention span has dropped to six minutes or less.
- Too many pastors today consider themselves motivational speakers. Pastor Parsley is a Gospel preacher! He does not merely impart helpful information; He brings the Word, and the Word brings life!
- Those that hunger and thirst for righteousness will receive it! Slow down and quiet yourself this week, and invite Him into your life so He can conform you to the image of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
IMPARTATION
Heavenly Father,
Make me more like You this week! Forgive me for running to and fro constantly, filling my life with activity and noise in an effort to occupy my time. Show me that the only thing worthy of my time and attention is You. Make me a new creature day by day.
Thank You for bringing me to a place where the Gospel is preached and believed, that the world may be transformed. Make me a part of Your plan to transform this community, this state and this nation as You would have it. Teach me Your ways and how I can best share Your love with others.
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ – Jehovah Joshua Messiah – I pray. Amen!
