04/18/2017 — Throughout His life, Jesus conquered death. He did it once and for all on the first Easter, when He rose from a borrowed tomb, never to return to it, so you and I might live forever with Him in heaven!

EDUCATION

Luke 11:1—4
"He was praying in a certain place, and when He ceased, one of His disciples said to Him, ’Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.’

He said to them, ’When you pray, say:
Our Father, who is in heaven,
hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come;
Your will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us each day our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins,
for we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil’” (MEV).

Galatians 3:19
"What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, until the Seed should come to whom the promise was made. And it was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator" (MEV).



APPLICATION

• When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, He responded with what is often called The Lord’s Prayer. It begins with "Our Father" — Jesus included each of us because we are part of His family! Jesus was not an only child.
• Better yet, Jesus models the approach we are to take with God by using the Aramaic word "abba," roughly translated "Daddy." We don’t have to be afraid to approach Him! Come running to Him like a child runs to an Easter egg on a hunt.
• Whatever your relationship with your earthly father, you can approach God as a loving Daddy who is always ready to scoop you up in His arms and love on you — when you are faithful to Him, and even more when you are not.
• You can reach for Him today like a drowning man reaches for a lifeboat. He loves you, and He can’t stop loving you! He’s always reaching for you but He can’t and won’t make you take hold of Him.

IMPARTATION

Heavenly Father,
What a privilege it is to be considered Your child! Thank You for loving me when I am good and when I am bad, when I am faithful and when I am unfaithful, when I am obedient to You and when I rebel against You. You love me no matter what!

Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, not only to live a life of service for me to emulate and to die a sacrificial death for my shortcomings, but also to rise victoriously from the grave so I can live victoriously on this earth and eternally with You! I am excited to be part of the Body of Christ today, with the knowledge that my future in Heaven is secure.
