For too long believers have petitioned God to meet their most basic needs, ignorant of Jesus’s promise that our Heavenly Father will provide those needs as surely as He protects the sparrows. We’d do far better to direct our faith toward what we want.
Jesus’s first miracle was at a wedding reception – a party. God saves miracles for parties! So activate your faith in God in the service of what you want, and praise Him until it arrives!
EDUCATION
John 2:1-11
“Jesus replied, ‘My dear one, don’t you understand that if I do this, it won’t change anything for you, but it will change everything for me! My hour of unveiling my power has not yet come.’
“Mary then went to the servers and told them, ‘Whatever Jesus tells you, make sure that you do it!’
“Now there were six stone water pots standing nearby. They were meant to be used for the Jewish washing rituals. Each one held about 20 gallons or more. Jesus came to the servers and told them, ‘Fill the pots with water, right up to the very brim.’ Then he said, ‘Now fill your pitchers and take them to the master of ceremonies.’
“And when they poured out their pitcher for the master of ceremonies to sample, the water became wine! When he tasted the water that became wine, the master of ceremonies was impressed. (Although he didn’t know where the wine had come from, but the servers knew.) He called the bridegroom over and said to him, ‘Every host serves his best wine first until everyone has had a cup or two, then he serves the wine of poor quality. But you, my friend, you’ve reserved the most exquisite wine until now!’
“This miracle in Cana was the first of the many extraordinary miracles Jesus performed in Galilee. This was a sign revealing his glory, and his disciples believed in him” (TPT).
APPLICATION
- There is too much idolatry in the Church today! Believers come to service needing to be stirred up by the worship set and specifically ministered to, to receive the miracle they need. Those believers don’t need an external source to receive their miracle. They need to praise God, at all times, no matter what their circumstance.
- Everything in the Kingdom will cost you a praise. The question you need to answer is, how bad do you want what you want?
- An uncommon praise will lead to an uncommon miracle. Use your faith to petition God for what you want, because He has already promised to meet your needs. If you are asking God to meet your basic needs, you are using your faith ineffectively.
- Get out of your comfort zone and get used to offering a radical, unusual praise to God as a means of activating the turnaround you have been believing Him for!
IMPARTATION
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for meeting my every need! I confess I have not always been an effective steward of all You have given me, and I have prayed that You would do what You have already promised to provide! Order my steps, that I may pray and believe for something far beyond my material needs. I need a miracle in my life today and I believe You to provide it.
Activate my faith continually, Heavenly Father, so I would become someone who does not need to come to church for a jump start. Make me someone who jump starts others! I love you and I long to become the channel of Your grace and mercy that You have made me to be.
