Message Description
God is using our Pastor, Dr. Rod Parsley, to raise up 100,000 intercessors who will seek His face for our nation and world. It's urgent that we reject the strategies of the culture and humble ourselves before God, asking Him to heal our land.
Until we are willing to be convicted of our own sin, we won't truly believe the truth of Scripture that there is only one way to be reconciled with God the Father: through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ! Let's meet at the altar and humbly ask His forgiveness for our own sin, so we can credibly impact the world for Him!
Scripture
Mark 5:25-34
"Now, in the crowd that day was a woman who had suffered horribly from continual bleeding for twelve years. She had endured a great deal under the care of various doctors, yet in spite of spending all she had on their treatments, she was not getting better, but worse. When she heard about Jesus’ healing power, she pushed through the crowd and came up from behind him and touched his prayer shawl. For she kept saying to herself, 'If only I could touch his clothes, I know I will be healed.' As soon as her hand touched him, her bleeding immediately stopped! She knew it, for she could feel her body instantly being healed of her disease!
"Jesus knew at once that someone had touched him, for he felt the power that always surged around him had passed through him for someone to be healed. He turned and spoke to the crowd, saying, 'Who touched my clothes?'
"His disciples answered, 'What do you mean, who touched you? Look at this huge crowd—they’re all pressing up against you.' But Jesus’s eyes swept across the crowd, looking for the one who had touched him for healing.
"When the woman who experienced this miracle realized what had happened to her, she came before him, trembling with fear, and threw herself down at his feet, saying, 'I was the one who touched you.' And she told him her story of what had just happened.
"Then Jesus said to her, 'Daughter, because you dared to believe, your faith has healed you. Go with peace in your heart, and be free from your suffering!'” (TPT).
1 John 1:5-10
" This is the life-giving message we heard him share and it’s still ringing in our ears. We now repeat his words to you: God is pure light. You will never find even a trace of darkness in him.
"If we claim that we share life with him, but keep walking in the realm of darkness, we’re fooling ourselves and not living the truth. But if we keep living in the pure light that surrounds him, we share unbroken fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, continually cleanses us from all sin.
"If we boast that we have no sin, we’re only fooling ourselves and are strangers to the truth. But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
"If we claim that we’re not guilty of sin when God uncovers it with his light, we make him a liar and his word is not in us" (TPT).
Key Points
-
We have prioritized convenience over conviction.
-
The altar is a place of conviction, and that's why it has fallen out of favor.
-
Churches have become been baptized in branding, and the altar is not conducive to branding.
-
We have also seen the disappearance of revival.
-
lining people up and knocking them down is a revival. Loud and powerful is a revival. But all that is, is an entertainment.
-
Most people in the modern Church today don't really understand what revival is. Revival isn't when you feel better when you leave; it's when you feel worse when you leave.
-
Revival begins with a heartfelt conviction of our own sin and repentance, a turning from our wicked ways, determined to live a life that becomes the Gospel.
-
Authentic revival does not and will not happen without the preaching of the cross and training in authentic evangelism. Much of the modern Church isn't experiencing revival and is afraid that if it does what it takes to bring revival that attendance and offerings will go down.
-
Revivals historically arrive during a time of great danger and spiritual lethargy. That's us! The times are right and we can be, if we will be.
