01/31/2017 — God has given you weapons with which to wage spiritual warfare in your circles of influence, but they don’t resemble the armor of a Roman soldier. Your weapons more accurately resemble the garments of the high priest of God - and they are available to you today and every day!

EDUCATION

Ephesians 6:10-17
“(B)e strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your waist girded with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, having your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace, and above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you will be able to extinguish all the fiery arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (MEV).

2 Corinthians 10:4-6
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…” (MEV).

APPLICATION

• Many commentators believe Paul’s reference to the “armor of God” is patterned after the dress of a Roman soldier. But it’s more appropriate to relate it to the garments of the high priest of God.
• Holiness is power. God is absolutely powerful because He is absolutely holy. But it’s up to each of us to put on holiness, and to shod our feet with the Gospel of peace.
• Imposing the Kingdom in this context means shining forth the love of God.
• Truth holds all the other parts of the armor together. When you get a strong enough hold on truth, it will hold on to you!

IMPARTATION

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for equipping me with love as I advance Your Kingdom in my circles of influence! I reject carnal weapons of warfare and commit to love You and to love people as the most effective means of battling the forces of darkness that would consume my life and the lives of those I love the most.

In the face of what the world calls ‘facts,’ I will cling to Your truth until it has a hold upon me. I will spread Your love lavishly this week because that is how I can best impose Your Kingdom in places nobody else can reach. I am filled with joy at the prospect of being Your warrior where You have called me to minister this week.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ – Jehovah Joshua Messiah – I pray. Amen!
