09/26/2019 — You are made in the image of God! But too many people in the Church today have decided that it's not enough to be an image - they must be a copy of God, with His powers and His prerogative to direct human events.

God did not create you not to need Him. You were created to hunger for worship to God and intimacy with Him. We need to be all in for Him! And unless you have a heart conversion, rather than a head confession, you will operate with a faulty understanding of the things of God in your life. Embrace the true Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ today, so you may walk in communion with God in this life as well as in heaven!

 
Genesis 1:26-30

“Then God said, 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.'

“So God created man in His own image;
in the image of God He created him;
male and female He created them.

“God blessed them and said to them, 'Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves on the earth.'

“Then God said, 'See, I have given you every plant yielding seed which is on the face of all the earth and every tree which has fruit yielding seed. It shall be food for you. To every beast of the earth and to every bird of the air and to everything that creeps on the earth which has the breath of life in it, I have given every green plant for food.' And it was so” (MEV).

• Mankind is made in the image of God. But an image - a reflection - is not the same as the original. And we are not God, and never will be. If we were, we'd have no need of Him. But God created us to desire to worship Him and have intimacy with Him.
• Our flaw in seeking God is that we are driven by what we see. When Jesus came to earth in the flesh, the disciples asked to see the Father! And today, we substitute worship of the things we can see over the things we cannot see.
• If you take a three-dimensional object and hold it up to the light, it casts a two-dimensional shadow. Similarly, we are images of God, with a soul and a body. Not until we are filled with His Spirit can we begin to understand the things of God.
• A decision is a conclusion after consideration.
• A confession is a formal statement admitting guilt.
• A conversion is a process changing something from one form to another.
• The evidence of true conversion is not that you go to church or read the Bible or pray. It is that you are actively seeking to bring people to church so they can go to heaven with you.

 
Heavenly Father,

Thank You for making me in Your image! I am in awe of the fact that You made mankind to reflect You to each other, and to need to worship You and honor You by serving others.

Help me to be the best reflection of You I can possibly be. Order my steps that I may not only gather with other believers as Your word commands and devour Your wisdom as revealed in the Bible, but also to love the lost and influence them to recognize that they, too, are reflections of You and are built to honor and worship You just as I am. Make me a messenger of hope in my circles of influence, dear Lord.
