The Anointing that brings freedom
"Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit," says the Lord Almighty.
- Zechariah 4:6
In Jesus’ first sermon, He declares the anointing for Jubilee: “The Spirit of
the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom to the prisoners and recovery of sight to
the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor”
(Luke 4:18-19).
The anointing of Jesus’ ministry—the Jubilee anointing—brings liberty to
captives, healing to those broken in body and in heart, recovery of sight
(physically and spiritually), and illuminates the message of good news to the
lost!
Jubilee means rejoicing and celebrating! David said, “I know that the Lord saves
His anointed; He answers him from His holy heaven with the saving power of His
right hand” (Psalms 20:6). There is nothing too big for God to change with His
power.
Whatever you are mourning over today, God wants to bestow a “crown of beauty
instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of
praise instead of a spirit of despair” (Isaiah 61:3). This is the Jubliee
anointing of Jesus in our lives. This is your season of restoration!
