Strength to Endure
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair... We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
- 2 Corinthians 4:8-10
The devil attacks at every point of perceived weakness, hoping to discourage us.
He hopes that we will compromise, bend, yield, and stumble.
When God’s people grow, Satan cowers. Satan tried to sift Peter in order to curb
his spiritual growth.
Jesus explained, “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have
prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned
back, strengthen your brothers” (Luke 22:31-32).
Satan still believes that his sifting will destroy God’s people even though time
and time again our faith is refined by fire. When you resist the devil and his
temptations, your faith will be even stronger than before.
When the heart of a devoted follower is committed in Christ, Satan has no power
in that person’s life.
You already have the victory—keep going through the hard times, knowing that He
will strengthen you.
