Freedom
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.
- Isaiah 61:1
Do you know what deliverance means? Deliverance is defined as “rescue from
bondage or danger.” This is what Christ did for us on the cross…He delivered
us from the bondage of sin…from the curse of death…from the clutches of the
devil.
Yet so many believers live in bondage…they live in the prison camp of Satan.
Why?
They may live by the dead letter of the law or perhaps they minimize the power
of the Holy Spirit to change and deliver people. Ignorance is also a
factor—many Christians are ignorant about their rights as God’s children.
They don’t know that they have been fully delivered and all they need to do is
walk out of their place of captivity.
“You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging
to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness
into his wonderful light” (1 Peter 2:9). If you want to be free from bondage,
drink from the well of deliverance and start living your life of freedom!
