A Prayer for Your Family

“Therefore pray in this manner: Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

My dad was not a spiritually boisterous man at all; but the few times our family was in a crisis, he would kneel down in the living room and say, “Come on, Mom. Come on, kids. Let’s pray.”

I can hear him just as clearly today as I can hear my own voice. He started every prayer by saying, “God, here is our family…”

Families are so very important to God. Whether you’re single and a family of one, a family of two, husband and wife, or have a family with children, I pray that God will provide your family with righteousness, and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17).
