What's your expectation?
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
- Hebrews 11:1
The Bible says, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am
your God” (Isaiah 41:10). Fear is one of the tools our adversary uses to knock
us off balance.
When the enemy comes with the first little problem, we must not allow ourselves
to be caught off guard. What are you expecting right now? Some people expect
nothing but the worst. They don’t expect a raise or a breakthrough. They don’t
expect to be healed.
How do I know? Because if someone is expecting, that person makes changes. When
my wife was expecting each of our children, she made some changes to prepare
for the event to come. She waited with hopeful expectation. You and I are to
likewise prepare to receive our answer from God.
After all, what is faith in God? Faith is expectation…and where there is
expectation, there is preparation. And where there is faith, there can be no
fear, for faith shoves fear out. Faith cancels your fear. Your victory will be
won in the arena of expectation and expectation begins with hope.
So, I ask you: What are you hoping for?
