Conclusion of Passover
“And look, I am sending the promise of My Father upon you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”
– Luke 24:49
Today marks the last day of Passover; however, this is not an ending. We are in
the midst of counting down 50 days to Pentecost. In Leviticus 23:15-16, Israel
received the following instruction: You shall count seven full weeks from the
next day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf bundle of
the wave offering. You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh
Sabbath; then you shall offer a new grain offering to the LORD. You shall
bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two-tenths of an ephah. They
shall be of wheat flour, baked with leaven. They are the first fruits to the
LORD.
This is another prophetic Feast. This Feast foretells of Pentecost, when the
Holy Spirit would be poured out on the body of Christ, just as Jesus said and
as the Father promised. In Christ, every moment of every day is a new
beginning, because the Spirit of God dwells in us. We commemorate the Feasts
of the Lord to honor Him corporately, but in reality we always have fellowship
with God. His Spirit directs and guides us victoriously through each day, if
we listen for His voice.
Thank You, Holy Spirit, for filling me each day.
